Cheap Volvo S60 Essex

The Volvo S60 is a compact executive saloon produced by the Swedish car manufacturer Volvo since 2000. The 2nd generation and new S60 was released this year, it is being built in Belgium and Volvo has an expected annual production of 90,000 for the S60.

In redesigning the new S60 Volvo has targeted the BMW 3 series and Mercedes C Class as its true competitors. The S60 shows off the new design philosophy of Volvo, with new angles and sharp lines. Volvo has been known to produce conservative looking cars; this is not the case in this new model.

Initially the Volvo S60 has been released with the 2.0 161bhp diesel, the D5 202bhp diesel and a 3.0 litre T6 petrol. Three more petrol and a hybrid are due later this year. The D5 diesel is the best compromise between power and economy, the petrol is very fast and the turbo comes in at just the right time.

Volvo has done well in ensuring the S60 appeals to drivers as a driver’s car as well as for its on board comfort levels. The S60 handles very well and grips very well, at time the ride can be a little firm but not uncomfortable.

Competing against the likes of the 3 Series and C Class the S60 has to match their refinement levels in the cabin, suspension and road noise is subdued which historically was Volvo’s bane. There’s a fair bit of wind noise at speed, and the five-cylinder diesel engines are chirpy, particularly when combined with the Geartronic automatic gearbox.

The S60 has been priced in line with its competitors; the entry level 2.0 diesel costs £23,295. The petrol 3.0 litre Turbo T6 starts at £35,695. With the current market as it is there are deals to be had, for a cheap Volvo S60 in Essex check out Essex Auto Group.
