Carfax Continues Tie-up With Subaru

Japanese automaker Subaru has been relying on Carfax in promoting the sale of pre-owned vehicles. With the latter’s Carfax Vehicle History Reports, Subaru’s Certified Pre-Owned Program has been a success for the past two years. The last couple of years saw the Japanese automaker partnering with Carfax. The visibility of the company’s pre-owned cars will be increased as Carfax announced that they will be working closer with Subaru as they continue their partnership.

The Carfax Vehicle History Report is a requirement for pre-owned vehicles to be registered. The tie-up with Subaru and Carfax means that the history report comes free with every purchase of pre-owned Subarus. According to a press release from Carfax, the history report is free to car buyers if they bought pre-owned Subaru vehicles from certified Subaru dealerships across the country.

Tim Colbeck, the vice president of sales for Subaru of America, has this to say about the extension of their tie-up with Carfax: “We are very pleased to expand our relationship with Carfax. The enhanced services that are now available to Subaru dealers will only strengthen the Subaru Certified Pre-Owned program that is very popular among our customers. After all, 95 percent of all Subaru vehicles sold in the last ten years are still on the road today.”

The history of pre-owned Subaru vehicles can also be checked by car buyers. Carfax uses the VIN or the vehicle identification number to compile data about a certain vehicle. These data are then made available to auto buyers who are looking to buy a used vehicle. With the history report, consumers will have the chance to review the history of the vehicle, what repairs it has undergone, and whatnot. This information can greatly affect the decision of a consumer whether to buy or not to buy a vehicle in question. Some reports even tell customer whether a vehicle’s Subaru fuel pump has been replaced in the past.

Carfax’s vice president of business development, Joe Koenig, has this to say: “Subaru and Carfax are continually working to enhance the buying experience for our customers.”

“It’s now easier than ever to recognize Subaru CPO vehicles anywhere buyers search for used cars, including carfax.com. Anyone purchasing a certified Subaru has the benefit and added confidence knowing that these vehicles are backed by two quality brands – Subaru and Carfax,” Koenig continued.

By working together with Carfax, the visibility of Subaru’s pre-owned vehicles will surely increase. And to attract more consumers, the Japanese automaker announced that they will be offering increased enhancements for their Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) Program.

The automaker announced that they will be giving longer warranty period for their pre-owned vehicles. The consumers will also be given the chance to upgrade the vehicles they are looking to buy, something that is usually offered only to new car buyers. Better financing options will also be made available by Subaru to interested consumers.

The Japanese automaker’s Certified Pre-Owned Program includes vehicles which are no more than five years old. Another qualification for vehicles to be part of the company’s CPO Program is that it should not have more than 80,000 miles in its odometer. The vehicle is also inspected for mechanical problems. If the vehicle is found satisfactory, it is then reconditioned and made ready customer inspection. These vehicles usually come with a standard 6-year/100,000 mile warranty.
