Motorhome News: Monaco Motorhome Millions

In a Principality that oozes luxurious expensive taste, it’s no surprise that even the motorhomes in Monaco are pricey. The motorhomes I’m referring to are by no means your regular mobile homes you see heading to the coast when the sun comes out, these are the “stunning new motorhomes that cost over two million Euros to build”, reports MarketWire.com.

With a reputation for attracting people who want to live the high life, the Monaco Grand Prix in Monte Carlo is the perfect location to present the extravagant motor homes. Some teams have gone all out to produce the most lavish and spectacular motorhomes, such as “Red Bull’s Energy Station that cost around €15 million”, according to BenzInsider.com.

In typical modern-media style, the Mercedes team used their Twitter homepage to post the first pictures of their three-storey motorhome, which looks like an office building with a glass facade. The Mercedes team are keen to stress how compared to Red Bull’s Energy Station, their own design is actually not as ostentatious.

The Monaco Grand Prix never disappoints, and 2010 once again delivered on all the hype and excitement that always surrounds the event, and in true flashy fashion each team supplied amazing motorhomes to feast our eyes on in-between races. The assembly of these majestic motorhomes isn’t quite as easy as it looks, with AutoSport.com reporting that both “McLaren and Virgin Racing faced a race against time to slot the final pieces of their impressive units together in time”.

The renowned F1 race attracted its fair share of famous faces, which included Mick Jagger, Michael Douglas, Pharrell Williams and even J-Lo, but boosting the interest of the motorhomes was Richard Branson who couldn’t believe how good the Virgin Racing unit was. Mr Branson was so impressed that halfway through a press conference with the team he said “you didn’t make two, did you? I wouldn’t mind living here!” By the sounds of it we all wouldn’t mind living there, but unfortunately unless you are of the rich and famous stature all we can do is admire the magnificence from a far!
