Chicago Hyundai Sonata dealer hopes to see big things from mid-sized 2011 Elantra

Hyundai is a small company compared to many auto makers but it has delivered big things in the past few years and continues to surprise the auto industry.  The Hyundai Elantra many only be a mid-sized car but it is making a big impact in the market.

Chicago used Hyundai Santa Fe owners will appreciate the price of the new Elantra. Starting at just $15,500 with deliver fee, the Elantra is a bargain at the pump as well, getting about 40 mpg highway.  Hyundai has put a lot of emphasis on developing fuel efficient vehicles like the new Elantra.

With a style borrowed a bit from its sleek cousin, the Sonata, Elantra will look familiar regardless. It just reminds you of a car you’ve seen often. Not that it isn’t original, but the familiarity should be a positive thing. Chicago Hyundai Sonata owners will definitely do a double take.

After the Los Angeles Auto Show, Consumer Reports writer Jake Fisher claimed that the Elantra was one of the “most significant” cars to show there. High praise for a mid-sized car from a little car company. Well, not so little anymore, but that’s another article.Previous models of Hyundai’s Elantra have done well and this upgraded model will no doubt continue to make gains on the competition.

What makes the Elantra so appealing and unique? Well just its configuration of fuel efficiency, style and class. It’s sophisticated without being flashy and lighter weight than many cars with electric drive systems. This makes the Elantra a car that every Chicago used Hyundai Santa Fe buyer can appreciate.

With lots of leg room for back seat passengers, the weight and fuel efficiency may take a back seat to practicality and comfort. The Elantra boasts a modest 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine with 148 horsepower. It will come with a six-speed automatic or a six-speed manual.

Those are the basic specs, but to really appreciate the Hyundai Elantra you need to drive it. Your Chicago Hyundai Sonata dealer will be more than happy to let you take a spin in the new Elantra, which should be in the showroom any time.

Buyers will be glad to know that the Elantra is being manufactured in Montgomery, Alabama. Hyundai, while based in South Korea, does have a California headquarters and has worked to bring production jobs to the United States as Hyundai sales here increased.

Hyundai has brought its numerous models to the U.S. market and had impressive sales while earning many awards. The company has even made a foray into the luxury car market and was met with success. Hyundai models are now gaining on more established models for a larger market share.
