Hyundai i20 diesel launch in 2009

After successful launch of Hundai i 20 petrol version in December 2008, the company is all set to launch diesel Hyundai i20 in India in a couple of months.

The Hyundai i20 has been winning accolades ever since its launch. Yesterday, when the Indian car of the Year 2009 awards were announced, we found that it lost the award by a whisker to the all new Honda City.

Although Hundai i 20 is a rare sight on the road, it appears that there is a lot of demand for the model.Expected launch date of the Hyundai i20 diesel is end-2009. Hyundai has of course not confirmed it,so it ay change a bit here or there.

The petrol Hyundai i20 has a 1.2 liter Kappa engine which is a wonderful feature to boast of. In the UK, a diesel Hyundai i20 is available with a 1.4 liter CRDi engine that offers 88 BHP at 4000 RPM, and 162 lb ft of torque at 2350 RPM. There is also a separate 1.6 liter version available in Europe – . But that 1.4 looks like a good fit for the Indian diesel Hyundai i20, considering its positioning as a premium hatchback.

Hyundai i20 is a hatchback which is inspired by premium hatchback Hyundai i30 which is launched in korea and europe and doing great. Hyundai i20 front is designed with a low slung grille, good large headlamps and cool sporty round fog lamps. The steep raked wind screen which flows smoothly and then it merges with a novel tail section. Hyundai i20 have a upright tailgate which means more boot space for luggage too. Interiors are really of the top notch with really high quality plastics used in it. Hyundai i20 is very much flexible seating very much similar to Hyundai i10. Hyundai i20 will offer more space than from the spacious Hyundai Getz.

With smooth lines and neat exterior detailing, such as the striking stacked rear light clusters, the i20 is all set to cut a dash on the streets. Meanwhile, the well-appointed interior includes generous levels of standard equipment, including air conditioning, electric front windows, remote central locking, six airbags and active front head restraints.Hyundai i20 might get a European manufacturing plant. The other important information related to Hyndai i20 is that Hyundai is planning to start manufacturing their i20 model outside India. The company is currently manufacturing the i20 car at their facilities in India. The model is exported from India for sale in the company’s international markets. What would be the fate of the car is yet to be seen.
