Reston Audi S4: Model returns with a bang
Not only has Audi managed to keep it S4 competitive with the likes of BMW, but now the price has been lowered as well, making it a great time to visit Reston Audi and drive an S4. The 2010 S4 is touted as “more sensible” than the last model and offers less power with identical 333 horsepower output. Interesting. Buyers of Reston VA Audi S4 just need to check out the 2010 for themselves, as its V8 has been traded out for a direct-injection supercharged V6. The fuel efficiency is now up to 18 mpg city and 28 mpg highway. Wow!
Then there’s the price. With a sticker price now down to $46,725 it is 9 percent less than last year’s model. And there’s more! Less power, lower cost and it’s – faster? Yes, it’s faster. Your choice of six-speed manual transmission or seven-speed automatic can hit 60 mph is just under five seconds. This is slightly faster than the previous S4.
The control of this S4 on a tight drive has even been compared to “dancing”. Even though the Audi is built on a front-wheel-drive platform, which tends to push wide to the corners when it’s driven hard and fast, this car is an exception to that norm.
Reston Audi customers will be pleased with the option of a sport rear differential, a $1,100 option that makes all the difference in how the car handles, according to industry experts who have been testing it out.
Then there’s the interior – comfortable, luxurious with options like silk nappa leather seats – must-have. The sound system option for an extra $850 is a 14-speaker Bany & Olufsen blaring out 505 watts. A navigation system is also available with rearview camera and parking sensors, but the price is heftier on this option at $2,500. Reston VA Audi S4 loyalists will be pleased with the many options and, of course, the plethora of standard features which are always anything but standard in an Audi.
The all-wheel drive system makes handling easy in any situation. The S4 flat-spoke wheels have been changed out for split-spokes which, while not flashy, are quite handsome. Even though a bit of the tough car factor may have changed, this S4 is a step up all the way around: faster, more efficient and less expensive. For some, the fact that it’s quieter will be a plus. For those of us who enjoyed the noise of previous models, we’ll just have to reminisce.
Customers of Reston Audi will be thrilled with the changes overall and will want to get behind the wheel when they see it and not get out from behind the wheel once they drive it.
